Close Windows and Doors · Turn Off Power · Move Vehicles · Protect Property

As Typhoon CHAMPI may affect Taiwan, all faculty, staff, and students are urged to take the necessary precautions and comply with the following instructions.

1. Typhoon Preparedness Before Leaving Campus

  • Each unit should assign personnel to ensure that all windows and doors are securely closed. Departments should also remind faculty members to check the windows and doors of their offices and research rooms.
  • Move all items and essential equipment to higher locations and ensure they are securely positioned to prevent damage from flooding or strong winds.
  • Turn off unnecessary electrical equipment and raise water-sensitive equipment off the floor.

2. Underground Parking Restrictions

  • Before leaving campus for the day, faculty, staff, and students must remove their privately owned vehicles from underground parking areas.
  • Depending on weather conditions, the Office of General Affairs will close the flood barrier at the basement of Building 6 and place sandbags at the vehicle entrances of Buildings 6 and 7. While the barriers are closed, temporary access will not be permitted. The underground parking entrances will reopen only after the typhoon warning has been lifted.
  • Student dormitories should close their basement flood barriers as necessary, depending on weather conditions.

3. No Parking in Flood-Prone Areas

To prevent vehicle damage caused by flooding or falling trees, parking is prohibited in low-lying areas of campus, including the campus loop road behind Buildings 1, 2, 5, and 6, all underground parking areas, and the Section A parking lot in the upper area of campus.
