Call for Applications: 2026 EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) in Taiwan

The 2026 Second Session of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) will be held in Taipei on November 8, 2026 (Sunday). The registration period is July 6 to July 30, 2026. Students interested in pursuing higher education in Japan are encouraged to apply.

This notice is forwarded from the Language Training & Testing Center (LTTC), which administers the EJU in Taiwan on behalf of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). The EJU is designed to assess Japanese language proficiency and academic abilities required for studying at Japanese universities and colleges.

The examination includes four subject areas:

  • Japanese as a Foreign Language
  • Science
  • Japan and the World
  • Mathematics

Applicants may choose the required subjects according to the admission requirements of their target institutions. EJU scores are recognized by more than 900 higher education institutions in Japan as part of their admission criteria. 

Many Japanese universities offer degree programs taught in English to support internationalization in higher education. Additional information is available through the Study in Japan website.

EJU scores are also used by the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association as part of the preliminary screening process for Japanese Government (MEXT-related) scholarship programs. Scholarship benefits may include tuition support, living expenses, and round-trip airfare between Taiwan and Japan. Detailed eligibility and application requirements are available from the association.

In addition, the 2026 Japan Education Fair will be held in Taipei on September 19-20, 2026. Students interested in studying in Japan are welcome to attend.
