1 credit  of“Self-Directed Learning”: please follow the steps below to proceed with the application (see attached document):

  1. Download and complete the “Yuan Ze University College of General Studies Self-Directed Learning Plan” form.
    (Download Path: Portal>Learning Activities (學習檔案)>micro-credit and self-learning course→self-directed learning(自主學習) )

  2. Invite a professor in the relevant fields from the College of General Studies to act as your mentor. (Please refer to the self-directed learning areas led by College of General Studies faculty members at: http://www.ge.yzu.edu.tw/modules/news/article.php?storyid=33). Once you’ve obtained consent from your mentor, submit the application to the College of General Studies.
  1. After examination and approval by the “Curriculum Committee of the College of General Studies”, you must complete the application by filling out the Self-Directed Learning application form on portal within the designated period announced by the College of General Studies.


After your application is approved, you may proceed with your studies based on the self-directed learning plan you have written and record your progress and achievements. Upon completion, your mentor will evaluate whether you have met the requirements for
“Pass”, and once approved, you will be awarded 1 credit for General Education.

 

Guidelines for Credit Exemption:

The credits for General Education courses will be reviewed in accordance with “The Implementation Measures of the College of General Studies to Promote Self-directed Learning in Micro-courses”:

1. Self-Directed Learning: After approval by the " Curriculum Committee of the College of General Studies ", students can obtain 1 credit upon successful completion and assessment from their mentor.

2. To promote diverse and flexible learning, students are encouraged to independently regulate and manage the enrollment in micro-courses and self-directed learning. Students who accumulate a total of 2 credits during their academic tenure can receive recognition for 2 credits of "Self-Directed Learning in Micro-Courses".

3. Foreign students and students enrolled in English bachelor's degree programs (excluding the College of Management) are still required to select courses from the four major fields. Exemption regulations will be determined based on the respective academic program's guidelines.
