- Program Objectives: To bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas and to uphold the educational rights of underprivileged students in remote regions, this program provides elementary school students in remote areas with an environment for after-school English enhancement and online companionship. The program facilitates interaction between university students (Learning Companions) and elementary students via video conferencing in small groups (3 students per group) at scheduled weekly times. By serving as a Learning Companion, university students can gain a deeper understanding of the learning challenges faced by children in remote areas, cultivate empathy, and gain valuable experience in remote teaching while receiving a teaching hourly fee.
