Dear Colleagues and Students,
In response to a recent urgent announcement from the Taiwan-CA (TWCA), to enhance the security and connection stability of the University's email system, the Office of Library and Information Services will update the TLS/SSL security certificate for the Exchange mail server tomorrow (November 5).
Maintenance Window:
November 5, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Service Impact and Possible Interruptions
During the maintenance period, mail transport and web services will need to be restarted. As a result, you may experience the following temporary service interruptions:
- Outlook Web App (OWA)
Your connection may be briefly interrupted. If the page freezes or displays a "Connection Error" message, please press F5 to refresh your browser and reconnect. - Outlook Desktop App (Classic Outlook)
Outlook may temporarily display a "Disconnected" status or prompt you to re-enter your password. If this occurs, please completely close and restart Outlook, or re-enter your password to reconnect. - Mobile Email Access (ActiveSync)
Mobile devices may be unable to synchronize new emails for several seconds while services are restarting. - Email Delivery Delay
Emails sent or received during the maintenance period will not be lost, but delivery may be delayed by approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
Preventive Recommendation
To avoid potential data loss caused by a brief connection interruption, we recommend saving any important emails as drafts before 10:00 AM tomorrow if you are still editing them.
Once the update is completed, all email services will resume normal operation automatically.
If you continue to experience Outlook password prompts or are unable to send or receive emails after 12:00 PM, please contact Mr. Lin of the Network and Media Section, Office of Information Services (Extension 3104) for assistance.
We apologize for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Network and Media Section
Office of Library and Information Services
