The Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety and Health Center (EPOSH Center) has identified several containers of unidentified liquid stored in the basement of Building 3. To ensure campus safety and environmental protection, the following notice is issued:

1. Time and Location of Discovery
During an on-site laboratory safety audit conducted on May 19, 2026 (Tuesday), between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., four (4) unlabelled containers of unidentified liquid were found in the basement of Building 3. Photos of the items were taken on site for record purposes.

2. Legal Basis
In accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act, and YZU’s Regulations for Laboratory Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety and Health, all chemical substances must be clearly labeled and properly managed. Random storage or disposal is strictly prohibited to prevent potential hazards.

3. Claim Deadline
The owner(s) of the above-mentioned items are requested to contact the EPOSH Center and complete the claim process in person within seven (7) calendar days from the date of this announcement, no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 29, 2026.

4. Disposal After Deadline
If no claim is made by the deadline, the items will be regarded as unclaimed waste. For the protection of public safety on campus, the EPOSH Center will proceed with compulsory disposal. The liquids will be handled as unidentified waste liquids and transferred, in accordance with regulations, to the Resource Recycling Plant of the Environmental Resource Research and Management Center, National Cheng Kung University, for further treatment.

5. Responsibility and Costs
All transportation and disposal costs arising from the handling of the unidentified liquids shall be borne in full by the owner. If violations of environmental protection or occupational safety regulations are confirmed, the case will be reported to the University and relevant authorities for further action.
