According to the latest monitoring data from the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC), influenza activity is currently on the rise.
With the start of the semester, close contact on campus increases the risk of cluster infections.
To protect the health of our campus community, please strictly follow these prevention guidelines:
🚨 1. Stay Home When Sick (Core Principle)
- Symptom Monitoring: If you experience flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, runny nose, sore throat, or occasionally nausea/diarrhea), please wear a mask immediately and practice strict hand hygiene.
- Managing Suspected Cases: If faculty or staff identify a student with flu symptoms, please provide them with a mask, place them in a well-ventilated separate space, and arrange for them to seek medical care and rest at home.
- Return to School/Work Condition: Sick individuals must rest at home and should not return to campus until at least 24 hours after their fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medication.
- Dormitory Residents: Infected dormitory students should be accommodated separately from healthy students until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours.
🛡️ 2. Personal Hygiene & Environmental Protection
- Get Vaccinated: Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the flu. High-risk and high-transmission individuals are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated as early as possible.
- Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing.
- Cough Etiquette:
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
- Wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms, and change it immediately if it becomes damp.
- Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter when talking to others if you feel unwell.
- Ventilation & Disinfection: Frequently disinfected high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, desks) and keep indoor spaces well-ventilated by opening windows.
