In accordance with the official letter No. 1150400573 issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) on July 3, 2026, the implementation schedule and eligible recipients for this year’s government-funded influenza vaccination program are detailed below.
Please review the phases to see if you qualify for a free flu shot:
💉 Phase 1 (Starting from October 1, 2026)
- Medical and health epidemic prevention personnel.
- Seniors aged 65 and above.
- Indigenous people aged 55 and above.
- Residents and staff members of nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and similar institutions.
- Infants/children aged over 6 months up to pre-elementary school entry age.
- Pregnant women.
- Individuals with underlying high-risk conditions: Including high-risk chronic patients, individuals with a BMI $\ge$ 30, rare disease patients, and patients with major illnesses/injuries.
- Parents or actual caregivers of infants under 6 months old.
- Kindergarten childcare staff, permanent staff at childcare institutions, and home-based childcare providers (nannies).
- Students from elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational high schools, and 1st to 3rd-year students of 5-year junior colleges.
- Poultry/livestock handling personnel and animal disease prevention personnel.
💉 Phase 2 (Starting from November 2, 2026)
- Adults aged 50 to 64 without high-risk chronic illnesses.
