🔸Event Background:
Biodiversity has long been one of the key issues in sustainable development. Its importance lies in maintaining ecosystem stability, providing essential resources for human survival, and contributing to both economic and cultural value. Biodiversity supports critical ecosystem services such as food supply, medicine, water quality, and climate regulation. If biodiversity is lost, it may lead to severe consequences, including food shortages, environmental pollution, and an increase in infectious diseases. Therefore, this lecture has specially invited Professor Chung from the Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica, to share insights on the evolution from “nature conservation” to “biodiversity conservation.” Through his talk, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how biodiversity plays a vital role in achieving sustainable development. 🔸 Speaker:Kuo-Fang Chung, Research Fellow, Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica;Director, Museum of Biodiversity Research;Chairperson, Taiwan Society for Wild Ecology and Conservation 🔸 Organizer:Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility Center
